Mahila Samridhi Yojana: Will 20 Lakh Women Get ₹2500

Mahila Samridhi Yojana: Millions of Delhi women are seeing a new glimmer of hope. Such a hope can give their life a new direction in addition to making them self-sufficient. We are discussing the upcoming implementation of the Mahila Samridhi Yojana by the Delhi government. Eligible women would receive Rs 2,500 per month in financial aid under this initiative, enabling them to take care of their minor expenses and contribute significantly to their families.

The narrative from the election pledge to planning

This plan was announced prior to the elections by the Delhi BJP government, and funding for it was included in the March 8 budget. However, the plan hasn’t been launched even after the government’s 100 days are complete. Preparations are currently underway, though, and there are signs that this plan could be put into action around Raksha Bandhan.

Not just one, now every eligible woman will get the benefit

According to the initial proposal, the benefit of the scheme was to be given to only one woman from each family, which created confusion in cases like mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. But now the government has clarified the situation and said that husband, wife, and unmarried children will be considered as one family. That is, after the son’s marriage, his family will be counted separately, so that the daughter-in-law can also get the benefit of the scheme. With this decision, the scope of the scheme has become even bigger.

The age and income threshold will determine eligibility.

Additionally, the government has determined that only women aged 21 to 59 will be eligible for the program’s benefits. Women over 60 will be covered by the old age pension plan. However, a woman will not be eligible for this program if she is currently receiving benefits from another government program, such as the widow’s pension.

Only low-income households will gain in the Mahila Samridhi Yojana

Since the program’s goal is to assist women in need, certain financial requirements have also been set for eligibility. It would only include families with yearly incomes under Rs 2.5 lakh. Families that own a car or have any members who work for the government or are pensioners will not be eligible for this program.

Additionally, necessary documentation will be required.

Women would need to present their Delhi Aadhar card and ration card in order to participate in the program. Its goal is to guarantee that only legitimately eligible women living in Delhi receive the advantages of the program.

On Rakhi, you can receive a large gift.

The Delhi government is expected to be able to carry out this plan on Rakshabandhan day. This event will become a symbol of economic empowerment as well as a Raksha Sutra for women if this occurs.
